Syndrome Research of Both Hypertension with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Dilated Cardiomyopathy Pathologically based on Myocardial Fibrosis
Objective To explore the syndrome types and syndrome elements distribution regularities of heart disease including both hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy and dilated cardiomyopathy which were pathologically based on myocardial fibrosis
in order to provide syndrome basis for Chinese medicine prevention and treatment of myocardial fibrosis. Methods All published journals were reviewed in Journal Full-Text Database of China National Knowledge Infrastructure from January of 1985 to December of 2014. Eleven papers on hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy and 8 papers on dilated cardiomyopathy were up to the standard. Statistical analysis of syndrome elements and syndrome types was made on these papers. Results Eleven syndrome types were involved in905 hypertension patients with left ventricular hypertrophy. Yang hyperactivity
phlegm and fire were main excess syndrome elements. Yin deficiency and Yang deficiency were main deficiency syndrome elements. The most common syndrome types were hyperactivity of Yang due to Yin deficiency( 31. 16%)
deficiency of Yin and Yang(19. 01%)
as well as exuberance of liver fire(18. 90%). Nineteen syndrome types were involved in 783 dilated cardiomyopathy patients. Blood stasis and water retention were main excess syndrome elements. Yang deficiency and Qi deficiency were main deficiency syndrome elements. The most common syndrome types were water overflowing due to Yang deficiency( 15. 84%)
deficiency of Qi and Yin( 11. 37%)
as well as Qi deficiency and blood stasis(10. 98%). Conclusion Hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy was mainly based on excess syndrome and syndrome of intermingled deficiency and excess. Dilated cardiomyopathy was mainly based on deficiency syndrome and syndrome of intermingled deficiency and excess. Phlegm was the same excess syndrome element of the two diseases. Yang deficiency
Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency were the same deficiency syndrome elements.
