Analysis of the Theory of Liver Corresponding to Wood in Jin and Tang Dynasties: Based on Archeology of Knowledge
In order to understand the characteristics of the theory of liver corresponding to wood
this article adopts the archaeology of knowledge method
puts liver and wood into the philosophic framework of Jin and Tang dynasties
and focuses on the objects of wood and liver
as well as the relationship between these two concepts. The authors believe that
in Jin and Tang dynasties
characteristics of the theory of liver corresponding to wood mainly manifest as "following tradition obstinately"and "suspecting tradition". These mean that
the theory and content are unified
while there are crisis in the theoretical frame. To be specific
on one hand
the theory of liver corresponding to wood became the authentic theory
in which secular power had an important role; on the other hand
there was paradigmatic crisis in the theory of liver corresponding to wood
but the paradigmatic conversion had not been completed. It has the positive meaning to clarify the characteristics of the theory of liver corresponding to wood
both for the research of the theory of liver visceral manifestation and Chinese medicine theory of visceral manifestation
and for the research of modern Chinese medicine theory.
