Objective To observe the curative effect of hypogloeeis needling therapy on acute stroke with limbs dysfunction and pseudobulbar palsy. Methods One hundred and seventy-seven cases of acute stroke with limbs dysfunction and pseudobulbar palsy were randomly divided into a treatment group（ 92 cases） and a control group（ 85cases）. Patients in the treatment group were given hypogloeeis needling combined with Xinnaotong Capsule

and the control group was given traditional acupuncture therapy and Xinnaotong Capsule. Patients in both two groups orally took Xinnaotong Capsule 1. 6 g each time

3 times a day for 40 days. Two groups were both given needling therapy once every two days

10 times as one treatment course

for 2 courses. Clinical curative effect and symptom scores（ including scores of limbs movement

swallow function

speech function

tongue body movement and emotional state）were observed in two groups before and after treatment. Results Total effective rate of clinical curative effect was95. 7% in the treatment group

and 78. 8% in the control group. The treatment group was superior to the control group（ P < 0. 05）. Compared with that before treatment

emotional state and whole scores all remarkably increased（ P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01）;compared with that in the control group after treatment

emotional state and whole scores all remarkably increased（ P < 0. 05）. Conclusion Hypogloeeis needling therapy has clear curative effect in treating acute stroke with limbs dysfunction and pseudobulbar palsy

and it is better than traditional needling methods.
