Literature Research on Syndrome Characteristics of Bronchial Asthma based on Clinical Experiences of Contemporary Famous Chinese Medicine Physicians
Objective Based on literature of experiences of contemporary famous Chinese medicine physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of bronchial asthma to analyze the common syndromes and the clinical features of bronchial asthma to provide basis for clinical differentiation and treatment. Methods Database of Experiences of Contemporary Famous Chinese Medicine Doctors in Treatment of Lung Disease and Database of Journal Articles on Chinese Medicine for Lung Disease were searched and the papers on diagnosis and treatment of bronchial asthma by famous Chinese medicine doctors were screened. The symptoms and syndrome types of bronchial asthma were analyzed with the methods of frequency-factor analysis
cluster analysis and two element Logistic regression analysis. Results Totally 2459 papers met inclusion criteria were found out from the databases. Syndromes with the frequency ≥3. 0% were syndrome of phlegm-heat congesting lung
syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking lung
syndrome of cold fluid retained in lung
syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung
syndrome of Qi deficiency of lung and spleen
syndrome of Yang deficiency of lung and kidney
syndrome of Qi deficiency of lung and kidney
syndrome of kidney-qi deficiency
syndrome of lung-qi deficiency
syndrome of cold-phlegm obstructing lung
and syndrome of deficiency of both Qi and Yin of lung. Factor analysis and cluster analysis were made on symptoms. Five meaningful symptom clustering combinations were obtained. Combined with clinical practice
the authors summarized that common syndromes of bronchial asthma were syndrome of phlegm-heat congesting lung
syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung
syndrome of Qi deficiency of lung and spleen
syndrome of lung-qi deficiency
and syndrome of deficiency of both Qi and Yin of lung.Main symptoms and secondary symptoms of each syndrome were obtained. Conclusion Clinically
the common syndromes of bronchial asthma are syndrome of phlegm-heat congesting lung
syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung
syndrome of Qi deficiency of lung and spleen
syndrome of lung-qi deficiency
and syndrome of deficiency of both Qi and Yin of lung. Each syndrome had its symptom specificity.
