XU Jingfan’s Experience in Treating Diseases Involving Gallbladder and Stomach by Dispersing,Descending and Harmonizing Methods
This article summarizes professor XU Jingfan’ s experience in treating diseases involving gallbladder and stomach. The relativity of gallbladder and stomach is explained from physiology and pathology of gallbladderstomach. Prof. XU held that the relationship between gallbladder and stomach was close in the aspects of regulating ascending-descending of Qi movement and digestion-absorption of diet. Using Chinese medicine theory combined with clinical practice
examining the syndrome and seeking the cause
Prof. XU put forward that disharmony between gallbladder and stomach and adverse rising of Qi movement are main pathogenesis of disease involving gallbladder and stomach. As for treatment
Prof. XU emphasized harmonizing gallbladder(wood) and stomach(earth)
and used dispersing
descending and harmonizing as the main methods
cooperating with the clearing
dissipating
tonifying and ascending methods. Prof. XU could accurately differentiate the syndromes and effectively offer treatment.
