Clinical Observation on 40 Cases of Primary Frozen Shoulder at Pain Stage Treated with Hitting at NeckShoulder Points
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of hitting at neck-shoulder points in the treatment of primary frozen shoulder at pain stage. Methods Eighty primary frozen shoulder patients at pain stage were randomly divided into treatment group and control group
with 40 patients in each group. The control group was given routine massage while the treatment group was given hitting at neck-shoulder points. Each group was treated once a day
totally for 10 times. Pain visual analogue scale( VAS) scores and University of California at Los Angeles( UCLA)scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results There were 8 cases of marked effective
24 cases of effective and 8 cases of ineffective in the treatment group
and the total effective rate was 80%. There were 9 cases of marked effective
23 cases of effective and 8 cases of ineffective in the control group
and the total effective rate was 80%. There was no statistical significance between groups( P >0. 05). Compared with in the group before treatment
the VAS scores of the two groups were both decreased while UCLA scores were both increased after treatment( P < 0. 05). The VAS score difference before and after treatment in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group( P < 0. 05). There was no statistical significance in the UCLA score difference( P > 0. 05). Conclusion Hitting at neck-shoulder points could significantly improve the joint pain and joint function of patients with primary frozen shoulder at pain stage.
