REN Jixue’s Experience in Treating Hemorrhage Stroke Based on Latent Pathogen Theory
Based on the characteristics and development rules of latent pathogen theory
this article summarized the academic thoughts and the drug administering characteristics from the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke with latent pathogen theory by Professor REN Jixue. Latent heat(fire)
latent phlegm
and latent blood stasis in internal damage of latent pathogen play an important role in the occurrence and development of hemorrhagic stroke. Three latent pathogens of phlegm
heat
and blood stasis are hiding in the brain
leading to the occurrence or recurrent attacks of the hemorrhagic stroke in case of other incentives. It was believed that the elimination of pathogens should through urination and stool. In the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke
Professor REN attaches great importance to give path for latent heat(fire) and phlegm
as well as elimination of latent blood stasis. For the methods and herbs of eliminating brain stasis
breaking up blood and resolving stasis
draining heat and awakening the mind
dissolving phlegm to open the orifices were proposed
and it was treated with modified Sanhua Tang(三化汤) or Didang Tang(抵挡汤).
