Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Wupi Wuteng Decoction（ 五皮五藤饮） combined with Siwu Decoction（ 四物汤） on diabetic skin pruritus. Methods A total of 80 cases of patients with diabetic skin pruritus were randomly divided into treatment group and control group

with 40 cases in each group. Based on basic treatment

patients in control group were treated by loratadine and patients in treatment group were treated by Wupi Wuteng Decoction combined with Siwu Decoction. After treatment for 4 weeks respectively

according to the changes of total symptom score on two groups

therapeutic index were calculated to evaluate the therapeutic efficiency and drug adverse reaction was observed at the same time. Results The average total symptom score after treatment were obviously decreased in two groups（ P < 0. 05）

and the decrease in treatment group was more obvious as compared with that in control group（ P < 0. 05）. There was statistics significance in falling difference between treatment group and control group（ P < 0. 05）. The total effective rate in treatment group was 87. 5% and that in control group was 72. 5%.There was statistics significance in total effective rate between treatment group and control group（ P < 0. 05）. There was no obvious drug adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion The traditional Chinese medicine Wupi Wuteng Decoction combined with Siwu Decoction has an exact effect on diabetic skin pruritus and has good drug safety.
