Effect of Qidan Fugan Granules(芪丹复感颗粒) on Intestinal Function in Low Respiratory Tract Mucosal Immunosuppressed Model Mice
Objective To explore the possible mechanism of Qidan Fugan Granules( 芪丹复感颗粒) in treating pediatric recurrent respiratory tract infection. Methods Sixty Kunming mice were randomized into blank control group
model group
pidotimod group
Qidan Fugan Granules of high
medium and low dose groups
with 10 mice in each. Except for the blank control group
mice in the other groups were sensitized with ovalbumin and aerosolized to prepare a model of respiratory mucosal immunity. After modeling
the high
medium
and low doses of Qidan Fugan Granules group were given 0. 324
0. 162
and 0. 081 g/10 g
respectively
while those in the pidotimod group were given 0. 024 g/10 g pidotimod Gandudu. The blank control group was given intragastric administration of 0. 1 ml/10 g saline once daily. After 2 weeks of gavage
the spleen index
thymus index
and gastrointestinal propulsive rate of each group of mice were calculated
and the content of secretory immunoglobulin A( s Ig A) was determined. Results The spleen index
thymus index
gastrointestinal propulsion rate
and s Ig A in the model group were lower than those in the control group( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01); the spleens index
thymus index
gastrointestinal propulsion rate
and s Ig A of the mice in the high-
middle-
and low-dose groups of Piedemold and Qidan Fugan Granules groups were all higher than those in the model group( P < 0. 05). There were no significant differences in the indexes among the high
middle
and low doses of Qidan Fugan Granules group( P > 0. 05). Conclusion Qidan Fugan Granules can promote intestinal peristalsis in mice with low respiratory mucosal immunity and increase the s Ig A level in intestinal fluids
which may be one of the mechanisms for the treatment of repeated respiratory infections in children.
