Effects of Acupuncture Technique of Refreshing and Inducing Resuscitation on Cerebral Vascular Reserve Function in Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and the effect of acupuncture technique of refreshing and inducing resuscitation in the treatment of cerebral vascular reserve in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 106 patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into control group and treatment group
with 53 cases in each group. On the basis of conventional treatment of western medicine
the control group was given conventional acupuncture treatment
and the treatment group was given acupuncture method of refreshing and inducing resuscitation. The two groups were treated once a day
5 times a week for 2 weeks. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale( NIHSS) score
Barthel index score
and traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) syndrome score were calculated before treatment and after 1 and 2 weeks of treatment. Cerebral blood vessels
cerebrovascular reserve( CVR)
and breath hold index( BHI) were detected by transcranial Doppler ultrasound before and 2 weeks after treatment. Results After 1 and 2 weeks of treatment
the NIHSS score and TCM syndrome scores of the two groups were significantly decreased
and the Barthel index score was increased( P < 0. 05). Compared with the two groups
the TCM syndrome scores of the treatment group were lower than the control group after 1 and 2 weeks( P < 0. 05). CVR and BHI were significantly higher in the two groups after treatment for 2 weeks( P < 0. 05)
and the treatment group was more significant better than the control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Acupuncture technique of refreshing and inducing resuscitation can improve the neurological deficit and the ability of daily living in patients with acute cerebral infarction
which may be related to improvement of the cerebral vascular reserve function.
