Methodological Considerations on Clinical Research Design of Pediatric Tuina
Because of vague study objectives and lack of reasonable selection and application of modern scientific research methods
the development and promotion of pediatric tuina has been restricted to a certain extent. The evaluations of specific efficacy and overall effectiveness on pediatric tuina are 2 major issues in the related clinical studies. On the basis of the characteristics of pediatric tuina and the specialties of its clinical studies
this paper discussed and analyzed the possible difficulties which might be encountered in pediatric tuina’ s clinical researches
including research design type
blinding
control group and outcome measurements selection for the evaluation of therapeutic effect. This paper aimed to provide methodological discussion and suggestions for clinical research
which may promote the overall level of clinical studies in the area of pediatric tuina.
