Effect of Electro-Acupuncture on Gastric Electrical Rhythm and Expression of Cajal Interstitial Cells of Functional Dyspepsia Model Rats with Liver Stagnation and Spleen Deficiency
Objective To explore the possible mechanism of electro-acupuncture(EA) on rats with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome of functional dyspepsia(FD). Methods A total of 30 rats were randomly divided into blank group
model group
and EA group with 10 rats in each group. Except for the blank group
multiple factor intervention method was used to prepare the rat model with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency of functional dyspepsia. Electro-acupuncture therapy has been used for successfully established FD models for 14 days. Rats in blank group and model group were isolated in a silent environment during the treatment without any intervention. Gastric electrical rhythm was determined after intervention. Immunofluorescence method was used to measure the expressions of ICCs in rats’ sinuses ventriculi textura. Results The expressions of ICCs of the blank group was(20. 19 ±1. 12) % and the model group was(5. 32 ± 0. 97) %
the EA group was(26. 87 ± 2. 23) %. Compared with the blank group
the ratio of gastric electrical slow wave/main power and the expressions of ICCs were obviously decreased(P < 0. 05). Compared with model group
the ratio of gastric electrical slow wave/main power and the expressions of ICCs were significantly increased(P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). Conclusion Electro-acupuncture therapy can significantly increase the level of ICCs expression and gastric electrical slow wave
furthering influence the gastrointestinal motility and recovery of gastrointestinal motility disorder
which indicates electro-acupuncture therapy could be the possible mechanism on liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome of functional dyspepsia.
