Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Qingfei Yangyin Huoxue Formula（ 清肺养阴活血方）combined with sterane on patients with radiation pneumonitis（ RP）. Methods A total of 102 patients with RP were divided into the control group（ 51 cases） and observation group（ 51 cases） by random number table. Sterane was used in control group

and Qingfei Yangyin Huoxue Formula was used in observation group by oral administration on the basis of control group. The clinical efficacy of both groups was compared after treatment for continuously 1 month. The change of oxidative stress index including MDA

GSH-Px

SOD

immunologic function index including CD3+

CD4+/CD8+and NK cells percentage and adverse reaction were observed before and after the treatment.Results The overall effective rate of the observation group（ 92. 2%） was much higher than that of the control group（ 76. 5%）（ P < 0. 05）. Compared with statistics before the treatment

the level of serum GSH-Px and SOD were obviously higher after the treatment

while MDA were significantly lower in both groups（ P < 0. 01）. The improvement of observation group was more significant（ P < 0. 01）. The proportion of peripheral blood CD3+

NK cell percentage and CD4+/CD8+in both groups were remarkably increased after treatment（ P < 0. 01）

and the rise of the observation group was more significant（ P < 0. 01）. The incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group（ 7. 8%） had no significant difference compared with that of the control group（ 11. 8%）（ P > 0. 05）. Conclusion The combination of Qingfei Yangyin Huoxue Formula and sterane can significantly improve clinical efficacy

relieve the symptoms of patients

improve oxidative stress and enhance immunologic functions in RP patients.
