Discussion on Dose-effect Relationship in Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor( 《黄帝内经》)
Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor( 《黄帝内经》) contents many information about dose-effect relation on acupuncture
medical treatment and medicinal diet. For example
"every treatment should be to its own rationality
should not be too over or too less"
"as the origin of body’s energy
the five flavor can correct the improper qi of the zang-fu organs in treatment"
"over usage of five flavor also has bad effect on human body"
"suitable treatment should be used towards target location of disease"and "end the treatment until over half of the disease has been declined". The dose-effect relationship of acupuncture in Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor is mainly reflected in the relationship between clinical effect and the depth of acupuncture
the time of needle retention
manipulation and stimulation
whether obtaining the qi
how many times of acupuncture
etc. Although half of the thirteen formulas in Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor have an instruction on dosage of the medicines
the dose-effect relationship of Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor mainly bases on the appropriate amount of properties and flavors
and ending the treatment when it grip the target disease. In this paper
dose-effect relationship in Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor was discussed focused on acupuncture
