Comparison of Therapeutic Effects of Acupuncture with Consciousness Restoring Needling Method Combined with Western Medicine on Acute Anterior and Posterior Cerebral Infarction
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of Acupuncture with consciousness restoring needling method in the treatment of acute anterior circulation and posterior circulation cerebral infarction.Method A total of 95 patients with acute cerebral infarction were selected
including 50 patients with acute anterior circulation infarction(ACS group) and 45 patients with acute posterior circulation infarction group(PCS group). Both groups of patients were treated with acupuncture on the basis of routine treatment of neurology once a day
one week as a treatment course
and they were treated continuously for 4 coures. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) and activities of daily living(ADL) scales were evaluated before and after treatment
and the clinical efficacy of neurological deficit was evaluated after treatment.Result After treatment
the NIHSS scores of the patients with acute anterior circulation infarction and posterior circulation infarction were decreased compared with before the treatment
and the ADL scores were increased(P<0.05).The NIHSS scores of the ACS group were lower than that of the PCS group
while the ADL score was higher than that of PCS group(P<0.05).The total effective rate and remarkably effective rate of the ACS group was 94% and 34% respectively
which was significantly higher than those of the PCS group(respectively 80% and 13%
P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture with consciousness restoring needling method could promote the recovery of neurological function in anterior and posterior cerebral infarction
improve the daily living ability of patients
and the curative effect of anterior circulation cerebral infarction is better than that of posterior circulation cerebral infarction.
