ZHANG Xiaoxing’s Experience in Treating Dilated Cardiomyopathy
This paper introduced ZHANG Xiaoxing’s experience in treating dilated cardiomyopathy( heart distension). The disease is based on lack of the congenital constitution and deficiency of heart-kidney. The six exogenous pathogens seize the chance to invade and damage to the heart subsequently. Long termed invasion of toxic pathogen has caused poor blood circulation. Then the heart is blocked
and the heart has gradually expanded. Poor blood circulation has leaded to water pathogen. Later internal retention of blood stasis and water pathogen has happened
eventually resulting in heart distension. As regard to treatment aspect
Professor ZHANG Xiaoxing advocated first importance of reinforcing vital qi and strengthening ben
especially stressed nourishing heart-kidney. Meanwhile
it is stressed to eliminate pathogen
including eliminating toxic pathogen
expelling water pathogen and removing blood stasis. At the same time
the method of constricting
astringent and saving from the prostration should be applied flexibly.
