Connotation and Extension of the Theory of Phlegm-Blood Stasis-Stagnation-Deficiency in Coronary Heart Disease
analysis of traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) literature on coronary heart disease( CHD)
combining the new understanding of the pathophysiology diagnosis and treatment based on modern medicine
and the results of previous study on CHD for many years
the theory of phlegm-blood stasis-stagnationdeficiency was put forward
and it is believed that close combination
mutual transformation
and mutual causes and results of four syndrome elements of phlegm
stasis
stagnation and deficiency were the essential pathogenesis of CHD and ran through the whole course of CHD. It was also believed that pathogenic qi including exogenous and inner pathogen is the main pathogenic factor of CHD. Based on the understanding of pathogenesis"phlegm-blood stasis-stagnation-deficiency"of CHD
it is put forward that dispelling stasis and phlegm should be combined with warming kidney and activating yang
nourishing kidney yin
consolidating body resistance and regulating emotions.
