Clinical Efficacy of Yixin Huoxue Pills(益心活血丸) on Patients of Acute ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Qi and Yin Deficiency Syndrome and Its Effects on Cardiac Function
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Yixin Huoxue Pills(益心活血丸) on patients of acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) with qi and yin deficiency syndrome and its effects on cardiac function. Methods A total of 166 STEMI patients of qi and yin deficiency syndrome who received PCI were randomized into a treatment group and a control group
with 83 patients in each group. The control group received western medicine basic treatment after PCI
and the treatment group received oral administration of Yixin Huoxue Pills for 30 days on the basis of western medicine treatment. Chinese medicine symptom curative effect
clinical end points and adverse events were compared before and after treatment in both groups. Results The total effective rate of the electrocardiogram of the treatment group was 93. 98%
which was significantly higher than the control group(87. 95%). The total effective rate of Chinese medicine syndrome of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P
<
0. 05). The Lp-PLA
2
NT-proBNP
left ventricular diastolic diameter(LVEDD) levels decreased significantly(P
<
0. 05) in both groups after 30 days of treatment and the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)
peak flow rate ratio(E/A) increased(P
<
0. 05). After treatment
NT-proBNP
Lp-PLA
2
of the treatment group were lower than the control group(P
<
0. 05)
and the LVEF was higher than control group(P
<
0. 05). During the treatment period
both groups showed no significant adverse reactions. Conclusion Yixin Huoxue Pills can significantly improve the symptoms of Chinese medicine and electrocardiogram in patients with STEMI after PCI of qi and yin deficiency syndrome
