Study Ideas on Linggui Zhugan Decoction( 苓桂术甘汤) in the Regulation of Cerebral Lymphatic Drainage to Clear β Amyloid Protein
Spleen deficiency and water retention is an important pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease( AD). The representative formula of warming the spleen and resolving water retention method
Linggui Zhugan Decoction( 苓桂术甘汤)
has been proven to interfere with amyloid β-protein( Aβ) deposition by anti-inflammatory and regulating blood-brain barrier transporter levels. The Aβ clearance mechanism also has an important pathway of brain lymphatic drainage. A large number of experimental evidences indicate that Linggui Zhugan Decoction may affect the key structure and function of the lymphatic drainage pathway. On the basis of analyzing the relationship between the pharmacological action of Linggui Zhugan Decoction and the mechanism of clearing Aβ by brain lymphatic drainage
the scientific connotation of clearing Aβ by warming spleen and resolving water retention was discussed
in order to explore the idea of treating AD with traditional Chinese medicine.
