Overview and Thinking on Characteristics of Syndrome Differentiation in Traditional Chinese Medicine for Psoriasis Vulgaris
Psoriasis is a representative refractory disease in the dermatology department. As early as the Sui and Tang Dynasties
exogenous wind and dampness were taken seriously. Its development in modern times is focused on heat in Xuefen( 血分). However
beside Xuefen( 血分)
pathological changes of viscera
pathogenic qi as well as yin and yang make the disease more complicated. From the treatment of viscera
lung dryness can injure fluids
and lung heat can transform into toxin; liver failing to control conveyance and dispersion play an important role in the pathogenesis of patients’ emotional diseases; and improper diet or spleen failing to transport leads to diseases caused by supply disorder of water and grain essence. From the treatment of pathogenic qi stagnancy
wind is the leading cause of diseases
which will be mixed with other pathogenic factors to invade the human body; dryness and dampness complex-exuberant dryness failing to move water can be mixed with dampness
or dampness accumulation failing to distribute fluids may cause dryness transformation; and heat exuberance or throat diseases may be attributed to toxins. From deficiency and excess of yin and yang
yin and yang imbalance can make the body incapable of fighting against pathogenic factors in physical and functional aspects. Combining the above understandings on the etiology and pathogenesis
as well as synthesizing the feelings and experiences of syndrome differentiation and treatment in psoriasis
the etiology and pathogenesis of sweat pore blockage and yang deficiency
and the clinical thinking of reinforcing healthy qi and eliminating pathogenic factors are put forward.
