YAO Chunpeng, YAO Dan. Image Thinking and the Naming of Six Fu-Organs[J]. Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019, 60(22): 1891-1894.DOI: 10.13288/j.11-2166/r.2019.22.001.
the naming of the six fu-organs depends on the image thinking. The vocal side of stomach(胃)
intestine(large and small)(大肠、小肠)
gallbladder(膽)
bladder(膀胱) and Jiao(three jiao)(三焦) not only indicates pronunciation
but also is the main source of meaning. The ancients acquired the structure and function cognition of the six fu-organs according to anatomy and experience observation
and determined the name of the six fu-organs by analogy of image thinking. Thus
we can deepen the understanding of the relationship between image thinking and the construction of traditional Chinese medicine theory.
