Normal sleep covers three basic factors including sleep-awakening rhythm
the length of sleep and the quality of sleep. The changes of the rhythm and function state of defensive qi may affect the sleep of human body
which is mainly reflected in the following aspects: the law of day and night branches of defensive qi determines the sleep-awakening rhythm of human body; the length of sleep of human body mainly reflects the wax and wane of defensive qi and the speed of its movement
which is reflected in the length of the time of falling asleep and sleeping time.Sleep quality is reflected in the state of sleep maintenance and day function. In fact
it is the comprehensive reflection of the wax and wane of defensive qi and nutrient qi’s attraction to defensive qi. That the relationship between defensive qi and sleep activity is very close
and the deep understanding of the relationship between defensive qi and sleep will be able to better guide clinical practice.
