Correlation Between Ttraditioanl Chinese Medicine Syndromes and Anxiety in Patients with Primary Bronchial Lung Cancer
Objective To analyze the distribution pattern of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes in patients with primary bronchial lung cancer and its correlation with anxiety status. Methods A total of 315 patients with primary bronchial lung cancer were differentiated according to the self-made classification criteria of TCM syndromes. The deficiency syndromes included qi deficiency syndrome
blood deficiency syndrome
yin deficiency syndrome
yang deficiency syndrome
fluid deficiency syndrome
and essence deficiency syndrome
and the excess syndromes included qi stagnation syndrome
qi reversed flow syndrome
qi blockage syndrome
blood stasis syndrome
blood cold syndrome
blood heat syndrome
phlegm coagulation syndrome
dampness stagnation syndrome
water stop syndrome
fluid stop syndrome
excessive cold syndrome
and excessive heat syndrome. Meanwhile
the the hospital anxiety and depression scale(HADS-A) was used to determine the anxiety status. The distribution of syndromes in patients with primary bronchial lung cancer accompanied by anxiety was summarized
and the correlation between TCM syndromes and associated anxiety was analyzed. Results In 315 patients with primary bronchial lung cancer
137 were associated with anxiety
with an incidence of 43.5%. The occurrence of anxiety was age-related(P<0.01). The top 5 TCM syndromes in patients with anxiety state were qi reversed flow syndrome
qi stagnation syndrome
qi deficiency syndrome
phlegm coagulation syndrome and blood stasis syndrome. Qi stagnation syndrome and blood stasis syndrome were related to whether it was accompanied by anxiety(P<0.05). Conclusion The TCM syndrome types of anxiety in patients with primary bronchial lung cancer are mainly qi reversed flow syndrome
qi stagnation syndrome
qi deficiency syndrome
phlegm coagulation syndrome and blood stasis syndrome. Young patients
qi stagnation syndrome and blood stasis syndrome are risk factors associated with anxiety.
