Bibliometric Study on Partial Randomized Controlled Trials Considering Patients′ Preference
Objective The bibliometric method was used to summarize the characteristics of the previously published partial randomized controlled trial(PRPP) studies that considered the patient′s willingness
and to provide a reference for the clinical trial methodology of traditional Chinese medicine non-drug therapy. Methods CNKI

PubMed
and Cochrane Library databases were searched on PRPP study published from the establishment of the database to April 30 th
2019. Excel 2010 was used to design the data extraction table to extract data from the included studies
and quantitative analysis was performed for trend analysis and frequency analysis. Results A total of 42 PRPP studies were included
and the number of studies increased year by year and reached a peak in 2009(6 articles). The top 4 diseases with the most PRPP application are pregnancy
childbirth and puerperal diseases(12 articles 28.57%)
tumors(6 articles
14.29%)
digestive diseases(6 articles
14.29%)
and mental and behavioral disorders such as depression(6 articles
14.29%). The total sample size ranged from 31 to 5231
with an average sample size of 598 cases. The average ratio of randomization and preference group is 1 ∶1.12. In the included studies
a total of 17 items(40.48%) use the method of calculating the sample size of randomized controlled trials. The top 3 control types were comparisons between different non-drug therapies(21 items
50.00%)
comparisons between drugs and non-drug therapies(11 items
26.19%)
and comparisons of different medication routes(5 items
11.90%). The top 3 outcome indicators were efficacy evaluation indicators(78.57%)
patient willingness(26.19%)
and patient satisfaction(14.29%). Conclusion Most of the existing PRPPs are used in the evaluation of non-pharmacological therapies
and the diseases involved are also common in the types of non-pharmacological treatments such as surgery.
