Spleen Deficiency and Wind-damp Blockade are the Main Pathogenesis of Pre-rheumatoid arthritis State
Very early intervention is a significant research direction of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) prevention and treatment. Based on classical discourses and modern discuss on pathogenesis
this paper explores pathogenesis of preRA state in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)
and proposes that spleen deficiency and wind-damp blockade is the basic pathogenesis of pre-RA state. Specifically
spleen deficiency and wind attack causes autoantibody production;spleen deficiency and dampness blockade leads to intestinal flora imbalance; and deficiency of spleen and stomach results in mucosal immune disorder. Clinical features and animal models of pre-RA state are also characterized by spleen deficiency and wind-damp blockade. The discussion on the pre-RA state pathogenesis helps to use TCM to conduct very early intervention in RA.
