Combining the current status of traditional Chinese medicine（TCM） treatment of coronavirus disease 2019（COVID-19）

this paper discusses the inheritance and development of TCM from the perspectives of TCM cognition and thinking methods

dialectical materialism and cultural self-confidence. It is suggested that we should have confidence of Chinese excellent traditional culture represented by TCM

and establish a dialectical materialist worldview

master the epistemology and methodology of dialectical materialism

and realize the importance of mastering a relevant policy system for TCM to participate in public health emergencies

improving cooperation between Chinese and western medicine

establishing the long-term mechanism

improving clinical efficacy evaluation system under the guidance of the theory of TCM

and improving the medical personnel training system and model.
