Cross-sectional Study on Traditional Chinese Medicine Composite Conistitution Types of 727 Healthy Subjects in Guangdong Province
Objective To explore the types and composite regulation of composite constitutions in healthy people in Guangdong Province in order to guide clinical treatment of different constitutions. Methods A questionnaire survey of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) constitutional identification was conducted on 727 subjects from July to October
2017
in Guangdong Province using cross-sectional survey method. The content included general data and scores of constitution scale tables. A database was established for frequency statistics and analysis
while the Apriori algorithm was used for data mining of association rules for composite constitution. Results The proportion of biased constitutions in the total subjects is about 2/3(480 cases
66.02%)
which is much higher than that of harmony constitution(206 cases
28.34%). Proportion of people with composite biased constitutions(356 cases
74.17%) was much higher than that of the single biased constitutions(124 cases
25.83%)
and it is more common to have 2-4 composite constitutions. Compared with females
males had a higher proportion of harmony constitution(χ
2
=20.982
P
<
0.01)
and a lower proportion of composite constitutions(χ
2
=18.911
P
<
0.01). Apriori algorithm association rules mining results showed 15 related rules
among them
association rules of qi deficiency has the most. Qi deficiency and Yang deficiency has the highest confidence level of 76.355%. According to the deficiency and excess nature of physical constitutions
the composite types were divided. The most common types of composite constitution of deficiency-excess were qi deficiency with qi stagnation constitution
qi deficiency with blood stasis constitution and qi deficiency with turbidity dampness constitution. Composite constitution of deficiency-deficiency included qi deficiency with yang deficiency constitution and qi deficiency with yin deficiency constitution. The most common types of composite constitution of excess-excess were turbidity dampness with dampness heat constitution
turbidity dampness with qi stagnation constitution and qi stagnation with blood stasis constitution. Conclusion The composite constitutions of TCM in the healthy people of Guangdong Province are very popular
and are more common than single biased constitutions. Qi deficiency is the physical bases of composite constitutions.
