Preliminary Discussion on the Theory of “Bone Xuanfu”
Xuanfu(玄府) refers to sweat pores in a narrow sense and pores
in a broad sense it refers to pores
orifices and channels
which are fine structure with the functions of operating qi movement
circulating blood and ve-ssels
and running spiritual mechanism. The author perfects the theoretical hypothesis of "Bone Xuanfu" and believes that the hollow structures such as holes
orifices and channels in bones
as well as blood vessels and lymphatic vessels with different shapes are the structural basis of "Bone Xuanfu". The "Bone Xuanfu" in periosteum
bone and bone marrow has physiological functions of running qi and blood
nourishing bones
communicating inside and outside
supporting movement
and pathological characteristics of easy stagnation
easy breakage
easy loosening and difficult recovery. In this paper
the theory of "Bone Xuanfu" is preliminarily discussed from three aspects such as periosteum
bone and bone marrow in order to provide theoretical basis for further understanding the pathogenesis of bone and joint diseases and to provide new ideas for clinical treatment.
