Theoretical Origin of Dampness Pestilence and the Enlightenment on the Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019
Dampness pestilence is a type of infectious diseases caused by the infection of dampness pathogens. Due to the characteristics of dampness stickiness and easy lingering and repetition
the disease development is slow
and the pathogenesis changes are relatively complicated
with the treatment periodicity relatively long. According to existing data
the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) has fever as the first symptom
accompanied by basic symptoms such as fatigue
dry cough
dyspnea
gastrointestinal discomfort
and greasy coated tongue. The syndrome belongs to the category of dampness pestilence. The pathogen of the dampness pestilence pathogen is easy to invade Taiyin
and the main disease location is mainly at the lung and spleen. To clarify the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine on the dampness disease through literature review
we hope that it can guide the clinical treatment of COVID-19 from the perspective of dampness pestilence.
