Effects of Kangfuxin Liquid (康复新液) on the Pathology of Gastric Tissue of Chronic Atrophic Gastritis Model Rats
Objective To explore the effects and possible mechanism of Kangfuxin Liquid(康复新液) on chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG) model rats. Methods A total of 140 SD rats were randomly divided into normal group of 26 rats and a model of 114 rats. The model rats were given N-methyl-N′-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(MNNG) intragastrically
and simultaneously loaded with ranitidine
sodium salicylate and high-calorie starch paste as multi-factor intervention to prepare CAG model. The 65 successfully modeled rats including 30 female and 35 male were randomly divided into a model group
a folic acid group
and a Kangfuxin Liquid high-dose
medium-dose
and low dose group
with 13 rats in each group. The Kangfuxin Liquid high
medium
and low dose groups were given concentrations of 0.1
0.05
0.025 g/ml Kangfuxin Liquid respectively by gavage; the folic acid group was given 0.146 mg/ml folic acid solution by gavage; the normal group and the model group were given deionization water. The gavage volume of each group was 10 ml/kg
once a day for 8 weeks. The changes of body weight of the rats in each group were compared
the gastric mucosal histopathology score was performed by HE staining
and the levels of serum pepsinogen Ⅰ(PGⅠ)
pepsinogen Ⅱ(PGⅡ)
motilin(MTL) and gastrin(GAS) were detected. Results The body weight of female rats in each group did not change significantly((P>0.05). Compared with the normal group
the body weight of male rats in the model group was significantly reduced(P<0.05); compared with the model group
the body weight of male rats in the Kangfuxin Liquid high-dose group increased significantly(P<0.05)
the weight change of the Kangfuxin Liquid of low-dose group and folic acid group was not significant(P>0.05). Compared with the normal group
PGⅠ
PGⅡ
MTL
GAS in the model group were significantly reduced
and the gastric mucosal atrophy score was significantly increased(P<0.05). Compared with the model group
PGⅠ
PGⅡ
MTL and GAS of the folic acid group and the Kangfuxin Liquid high-dose and medium dose group increased significantly
and gastric mucosal atrophy scores were significantly reduced. PGⅠ/PGⅡof the folic acid group
and MTL and GAS of the Kangfuxin Liquid low-dose group increased significantly(P<0.05); compared with the folic acid group
GAS of the Kangfuxin Liquid high-dose group
the MTL and GAS of the Kangfuxin Liquid medium and low dose groups were significantly reduced(P<0.05); compared with the Kangfuxin Liquid high-dose group
MTL in the Kangfuxin Liquid medium-dose group
MTL and GAS in the Kangfuxin Liquid medium-dose and low-dose groups were both significantly lower(P<0.05); MTL and GAS in the Kangfuxin Liquid medium-dose group were higher than those in the Kangfuxin Liquid low-dose group(P<0.05). Conclusion Kangfuxin Liquid can significantly reduce the degree of gastric mucosal atrophy in CAG model rats
and its mechanism may be related to the increase of serum PGⅠ
