Complex Network Analysis of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules (Granules) (连花清瘟胶囊/颗粒) for Treatment of Lower Respiratory Tract Infections in Real World
Objective To explore the core combination drugs of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules(Granules)(LHQW)(连花清瘟胶囊/颗粒) for lower respiratory tract infections(LRTI) in the real world. Methods From the hospital information management system(HIS) database of 18 national tertiary first-class hospitals
clinical data on 5902 LRTI patients who were treated with LHQW were extracted. The descriptive analysis of their demographics was conducted
and the Apriori algorithm was used to build the model. Clementine 12.0 was used to perform the correlation analysis of Chinese and Western medicines and to establish the diagram of combination drugs to obtain the weights. The complex network was built on modularity-based fast agglomeration algorithm(Louvain algorithm) to explore the core therapeutic regimen of LHQW in the treatment of LRTI. Results Among the included patients
2830 were male and 2705 were females with 367 cases unreported; 75.3% were older than 45. In clinical practice
LHQW was often used in combination with anti-infectives
antipyretic analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs
expectorants and antitussives
bronchial expansion drugs
and gastric mucosal protection drugs. Among the core combination medications for curing patients
LHQW
ambroxol
levofloxacin
Xiyanping Injection(喜炎平注射液)
theophylline
acetylsalicylic acid
Tanreqing Injection(痰热清注射液)
dexamethasone
and Fei Li Ke Capsules(肺力咳胶囊) were often used together. In addition
there were three common medication regimens
which were LHQW plus Shenmai Injection(参麦注射液) and levofloxacin
LHQW plus Danhong Injection(丹红注射液) and theophylline
and LHQW plus pantoprazole and levofloxacin plus acetylsalicylic acid. Compared to the common therapeutic drugs
the core medications newly added drugs for replenishing qi and nourishing yin
promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Conclusion The current complex network shows that the core therapeutic drugs are similar to the commonly used clinical drugs. Shenmai Injection
Danhong Injection
and pantoprazole have separate use characteristics.
