This paper summarized professor XUE Boshou′s clinical experience on the treatment of coronary heart disease（CHD）. According to whether the condition is urgent or moderate

different treatment method is applied following the principle of "in urgent conditions

treat the branch; in moderate conditions

treat the root". The clarification of the etiology is crucial to determine the root of the disease and then perform the targeted treatment. Both syndromes in traditional Chinese medicine and pathology in Western medicine should be considered

and the combined treatment of disease and syndromes is carried out in clinical practice. The theory of "when there is heart impairment

regulate ying （营） and wei （卫） qi" is followed to guide herbal prescriptions. Blood stasis is common of CHD; when treating this pattern of disease

the cause of the blood stasis should be clarified to perform syndrome differentiated treatment.
