Discussion on the Problems of Microscosmic Syndrome Differentiation
Micro-indicators are the basis of microscosmic syndrome differentiation. Several problems have been found in current researches about micro-indicators mainly when they are used to interpret the essence of syndromes, to correspond with the pharmacological effects and to differentiate the disease and syndromes in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), all of which are fundamentally induced by lack of TCM thoughts. Therefore, it is suggested to adopt the concept of holism, put focus on the combination of macro and micro, and treat the micro-indicators dialectically; only when micro-indicators which are meaningful to syndrome differentiation, worthy to treatment and contributing to diagnosis can be developed, will it provide reference to the development of microscosmic syndrome differentiation.
