Data Mining of ZHANG Jiebin's Medication Rules in Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Severe Palpitations
To explore the theoretical understanding and medical rules in syndrome differentiation and treatment of severe palpitations by ZHANG Jiebin.
Methods
2
The prescriptions for treatment of severe palpitations recorded in
The Complete Works of ZHANG Jingyue
-
Treatise on Miscellaneous Diseases
-
Severe Palpitations, Fright and Fear
(《景岳全书·杂证谟·怔忡惊恐》) were extracted, and the medication frequency, natures and flavors, channel entry, and prescription array were calculated. The herb pairs and the association rules were analyzed with support degree set as 10 and the confidence degree as 0.8; the complex system cluster analyses of core herbs combination and new prescription herbs combination were performed with the correlation degree as 8 and the punishment degree as 2.
Results

A total of 35 prescriptions and 64 herbs were included for analysis. The prescription array was mainly the “supplementation array” (26 prescriptions); the top 3 herbs were Renshen (
Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng
, 23 times), Zhigancao (
Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparata cum Melle,
21 times), and Yuanzhi (
Radix Polygalae
, 19 times); in terms of the natures and flavors, the herbs were mainly warm (128 times) and sweet (216 times); the heart channel (195 times), the lung channel (154 times), the spleen channel (152 times), and the kidney channel (151 times) were the mostly frequent entry channels. Association rules analysis found 17 herb pairs, and the top 5 pairs with highest support degree were Renshen-Yuanzhi (17), Renshen-Suanzaoren (
Semen Ziziphi Spinosae
) (14), Renshen-Fuling (
Poria
) (13), Fuling-Yuanzhi (13). Eleven association rules were obtained and the top 3 with highest confidence degree were Fuling/Yuanzhi/Renshen (0.923), Renshen/Fuling/Yuanzhi (0.923), Suanzhaoren/Yuanzhi/Renshen (0.917), Danggui (
Radix Angelicae Sinensis
)/Yuanzhi/Renshen (0.909) and Renshen/Fushen (
Sclerotium Poriae Pararadicis
)/Yuanzhi (0.909). Seven herb combinations composed of 3 core herbs were obtained through clustering analysis, which were Zhusha (
Cinnabaris
)-Zhigancao-Shudihuang (
Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata
), Yuanzhi-Renshen-Huangqi (
Radix Astragali
), Yuanzhi-Huangqi-Fushen, Zhigancao-Shichangpu (
Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii
)-Shudihuang, Maidong (
Radix Ophiopogonis
)-Danggui-Huangqi, Maidong-Shengdihuang (
Radix Rehmanniae Recens
)-Mutong (
Caulis Akebiae
), and Fuling-Shichangpu-Shudihuang. Two new prescriptions were obtained, which were ⅰ) Yuanzhi-Huangqi-Fushen-Zhigancao-Shichangpu-Shudihuang, and ⅱ) Maidong-Danggui-Huangqi-Shengdihuang-Mutong.
