Inheritance and Innovation of Spleen-stomach Theory based on Modern Researches on Digestive System Diseases
Inheritance and innovation are fundamentals to keep traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in vigor. Based on the modern researches of digestive system diseases and the current research results of the spleen-stomach theory, it is summarized in four aspects: i) TCM researches on dominant diseases should put focus on efficacy evidence and theoretical basis of spleen-stomach theory; ii) it is meaningful to scientifically interpret the mechanism of the compound formula and the connotation of spleen-stomach theory; iii) the research results of dominant diseases on principles, methods, formulas, and medicinals have enriched the connotation of spleen-stomach theory; and iv) the inheritance and innovation are guided by the clinical questions and spleen-stomach theory. Additionally, this paper provides in-depth thinking of the inheritance and innovation of spleen-stomach theory, hoping to attract more attention and provide references for future related researches.
