Professor CHEN Dacan's Experience in Treating Seborrheic Dermatitis from the Perspective of Spleen and Stomach
This paper introduced professor CHEN Dacan's experience in diagnosis and treatment of seborrheic dermatitis from the perspective of spleen and stomach with proved medical case. By summarizing the experience of predecessors, and taking considerations of the unique geographical and cultural environment of
Lingnan
(岭南) region, professor CHEN proposes the view point of “spleen-earth as the pivot” in treating seborrheic dermatitis, including “fortifying spleen-earth to promote transportation and transformation of water-dampness”, “regulating the spleen-stomach to harmonize the ascending and descending”, and “supplementing acquired (postnatal) constitution to enrich and nourish the liver and kidney”. Besides, adjuvant comprehensive treatment including reasonable diet and psychological adjustment is suggested to achieve better effects.
