Analysis of the Pathogenesis and Differentiated Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis from the Formation of Wind
By analyzing the ancient literature on allergic rhinitis, it is considered that the knowledge of “allergic rhinitis is generated from wind” may be closely related to the principles of wind formulation. The ancients believed that wind is formulated due to exchange and circulation between cold and heat, and the characteristics of wind are si-milar to the clinical manifestations of allergic rhinitis. Therefore, this paper explored the etiology, pathogenesis and differentiated treatment of allergic rhinitis by analyzing the characteristics, formulation mechanism and influence factors of wind in the nature, from the perspective of cognitive metaphor of principles and characteristics of wind formulation. It is proposed that “mutual opposition of cold and heat” is the fundamental pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis. In clinical practice, the pathogenesis of cold and heat and the influence factors should be analyzed exhaustively to deve-lop the differentiated treatment program which should follow the major principle of “harmonization”.
