Discussion on Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Diseases Caused by Stasis, Toxin and Constraint through Spatiotemporal Medicine in Traditional Chinese Medicine
The occurrence and development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases caused by stasis, toxin and constraint are presented with time-dependent and space-dependent characteristics. Time-dependent charateristic is reflected in that the disease is started with spleen
qi
deficiency, and had stasis and toxin as the products accompanying the passage of time. Space-dependent characteristic refers to that the emotional constraint induced by external adverse stimuli together with stasis and toxin products can lead to the transmission and progression of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and finally even change nature of disease and accelerate the acute onset of adverse cardiovascular events, manifesting the law of spatial variation in the damage of heart, spleen to heart, liver, spleen as well as five
zang
(五脏) organs. By referring to the spatiotemporal medicine, the explorations on the occurrence and development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases, as well as on its associations with stasis, toxin and constraint, can help people open their mind to the new ideas for early prevention and treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases.
