Transparent Reporting of a Multivariable Prediction Model for Individual Prognosis or Diagnosis in the Field of Traditional Chinese Medicine:TRIPOD-TCM Checklist
To develop the “Transparent Reporting of a multivariable prediction model for Individual Prognosis Or Diagnosis in the field of traditional Chinese medicine (TRIPOD-TCM)” checklist, thereby providing reporting norms and suggestions for researchers on the subject of clinical prediction model of TCM.
Methods
2
The research team firstly interpreted each item of TRIPOD, and then proposed the basic framework and defined related items of TRIPOD-TCM based on extensive literature review. Two-round Delphi method was used to survey the related experts. The results were integrated and revised according to the expert opinions after each round survey, and the list of TRIPOD-TCM was finally formulated.
Results
2
Fourteen items including item 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4b, 5b, 5c, 6a, 10a, 13b, 13c, 18, 19b and 20 in TRIPOD list were revised when applied to the field of TCM. The language and examples of 17 items were revised. Six items remained as the original items. The finally revised TRIPOD-TCM checklist contains 37 sub-items of 22 items in 6 domains.
Conclusions
2
The preliminarily developed TRIPOD-TCM checklist can be referred to when reporting on individual prognosis and diagnostic prediction models of TCM in a detailed and transparent format, so as to improve the reporting standard of prediction model for individual prognosis or diagnosis in TCM field.
