Construction of Researches on Dao (道) and Shu (术) of Illustrious Senior Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and the Promotion Paradigms by Adopting Mixed Methods
The inheritance of experience, that is the integration of
Dao
(道) and
Shu
(术), of illustrious senior traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners is the key to further promoting the innovative development of TCM. However, currently, there are a sort of problems such as emphasizing
Shu
but ignoring
Dao
on the related researches, a lack of comprehensive methodological systems as well as research paradigms of mining and inheriting the experience, and scarcity of group-based researches on illustrious senior TCM practitioners for serious and intractable diseases. This article proposes that we should focus more on the inheritance of experience (integration of
Dao
and
Shu
) of illustrious senior TCM practitioners. Based on the inheritance of experience (integration of
Dao
and
Shu
) of illustrious senior TCM practitioners by adopting multiple methods, We have constructed a paradigm of inheriting the experience (integration of
Dao
and
Shu
) of illustrious senior TCM practitioners by using grounded theory, case series, cohort research, data mining and other qualitative or quantitative research methods. We have formed the research strategy for comparing the similarities and differences of the experience (integration of
Tao
and
Shu
) on the diagnosis and treatment of intractable diseases by different illustrious senior TCM practitioners, which could provide basis for developing recommendations on the treatment of intractable diseases. In addition, we used representational state transfer (REST) internet architecture to provide open and stable network service, and build an integrated service platform gathering medical care, scientific research, inheritance, and promotion, as a paradigm to further promote the research results of
Dao
and
Shu
, as well as benefit grassroots doctors, scientific researchers and the general public.
