Pathogenesis,Differentiation and Treatment of Mild Cognitive Impairment based on the Theory of“Turbid Pathogen Affecting Clearness”
It is believed that the theory of “turbid pathogen affecting clearness” fits the pathological characteristics of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Based on laboratory research and clinical practice, this paper explains the pathogenic evolution of MCI from multiple levels, and takes “turbid pathogen affecting clearness” as the core pathogenesis. It is proposed that the depletion of clear
qi
and the failure to transform into essence is the pathogenic basis of MCI, while internal generated turbid pathogen is the pathological product. When the disease is progressed, turbidity toxin is accumulated in the internal, thereby damaging the clearing orifices. According to this pathogenesis, the basic principle of treatment is supplementing deficiency and removing turbidity, and the core methods of supplementing deficiency and banking up the root, dispelling turbid pathogen, raising the clear and directing the turbid downward, resolving toxins and unblocking collaterals are recommended.
