Preliminary Discussion on the Connotation and Diagnostic Standard Establishment of Wei Qi(卫气)Deficiency Syndrome:Based on Literature Study
(卫气) deficiency is still not clearly defined in terms of its connotation and denotation in the clinical practice. This paper clarifies the connotation of
wei qi
deficiency syndrome by reviewing literature relevant to
wei qi
deficiency and lung
wei qi
deficiency, collecting data on diagnosis and clinical manifestations, and sorting out the concept and function of w
ei qi
and its relationship with the
zang
-
fu
organs (脏腑), that is, due to the deficiency of
wei qi
, its function of protecting the fleshy exterior, resisting external pathogens, warming the skin, striae and interstices, and muscles, and opening and closing the sweat pores is damaged, accompanied by
qi
deficiency. It is believed that in the future, we can establish the diagnostic criteria of
wei qi
deficiency syndrome initially from the perspective of syndrome elements, and around the two dimensions of
wei qi
dysfunction and
qi
deficiency, in order to promote the standardization of syndrome research.
