Exploring the Pathogenesis of Hyperthyroidism with Syndromes of Yin Deficiency and Yang Hyperactivity, Qi Stagnation and Phlegm Obstruction from the Perspective of Metabolic Reprogramming
This paper discussed the pathogenesis of hyperthyroidism with syndromes of
yin
deficiency and
yang
hyperactivity,
qi
stagnation and phlegm obstruction from ther perspective of metabolic reprogramming. It is believed that metabolic reprogramming is characterized by energy flow disorder, metabolic process transformation, and system dysfunction, and runs throughout the whole process of hyperthyroidism from its occurrence to the development. The induced endocrine and metabolic disorders, such as abnormal energy supply of nutrients and immune inflammation, are similar to the pathogenesis of
yin
deficiency and
yang
hyperactivity,
qi
stagnation and phlegm obstruction syndromes in the nature, having similar symptoms. The method of enriching
yin
and subduing
yang
, rectifying
qi
and dissolving phlegm can be used to treat hyperthyroidism as it can correct the unstable state of energy and substance meta-bolism in the body, regulate the physiological functions of various systems, and reverse metabolic reprogramming.
