Review on Research Progress of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Skin Wound Healing in Diabetes
Exploring effective methods to promote wound healing is a major demand in the treatment of diabetes. By reviewing the literature about traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for skin wound healing in patients with diabetes, it was found that TCM compounds with the function of boosting

and activating blood, as well as activating blood and resolve toxins, such as
Yangyu Paint
(疡愈涂剂),
Naoxintong Capsule
(脑心通胶囊), and
Fufang Huangbai Liquid
(复方黄柏液), can promote the wound healing of the skin of diabetic patients by improving local ischemia and hypoxia, promoting angiogenesis, and accelerating the growth of granulation tissue.A variety of active ingredients and extracts of Chinese medicinal, such as curcumin, astragaloside Ⅳ, quercetin, and ginkgo biloba extract, may promote wounds healing of diabetic skin by inhibiting inflammation and oxidative stress, improving insulin resistance, and increasing capillary neogenesis.
