Treatment of Radiation-induced Lung Injury from Stasis Toxin based on Five Views on Differentiation and Treatment
Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI) is a common complication after radiotherapy for malignant tumors. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), heat toxin with fluid depletion, and blood vessels stasis is a common pathogenesis of RILI, and “stasis” and “toxin” are important pathological factors. Focusing on the relationship between the theory of “stasis toxin” and RILI, considering the five views on differentiation and treatment model, this paper proposed to investigate the dynamic development process of the disease from the “space-time view”, discuss the key disease mechanisms at different stages from the “core view”, alleviate the prominent symptoms from the “symptom view”, and put forward the three treatment methods of cutting off cancer toxin, clearing heat toxin and dissolving stasis. It is advised to relieve prominent symptoms from “symptom view”, explore the advantageous targets of TCM treatment from the “precise concept”, and prevent and treat RILI from the “preventing disease before it arises”, “controlling the development of existing disease” and “avoiding recurrence after recovery”. This paper aims to provide ideas in terms of full-cycle prevention and treatment of RILI and provide more valuable clinical reference.
