Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Cancer-Related Fatigue from the Three Etiological Factors of "Constraint,Stasis, and Treatment"
In addition to the malignant consumption of the body caused by the tumor itself, the pathogenic factors of cancer-related fatigue (CRF) also include three aspects, emo
tional factors, pathological products, and treatment-related factors. In traditional Chinese medicine, the etiology of CRF can be summarized as "constraint", "stasis", and "treatment". "Constraint" refers to the psychological stress experienced by patients when facing malignant tumors and their treatment process; "stasis" refers to the pathological change of obstructed blood vessels during the occurrence and development of malignant tumors; "treatment" refers to the bodily damage caused by surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. For deficiency due to constraint, the method of relieving constraint and regulating
qi
is adopted, so that the constraint is resolved and
qi
flows freely, with tonification embedded in unblocking. For deficiency due to stasis, the method of invigorating blood circulation and removing blood stasis is applied, so that stasis is eliminated and new vitality is generated, with tonification embedded in dispersion. For deficiency due to treatment, the method of raising the sunken and detoxifying is used, so that the
qi
depressed by surgery is lifted, and the toxins from chemotherapy or radiotherapy are resolved, with balance embedded in tonification.
