Experience in Treating Reflux Esophagitis with the Unblocking Method
It is believed that the key pathogenesis of reflux esophagitis (RE) lies in stagnation of
qi
movement and loss of the stomach's harmonious descending function. Therefore, unblocking method is suggested to restore the normal ascending and descending dynamics of
qi
. Specifically, for soothing the liver to relieve constraint, the formula
Shugan Zhisuan Decoction
(疏肝止酸汤) can be used. For fortifying the spleen to relieve constraint, it is suggested to use
Weipi Xiao
(胃痞消). For disseminating the lung and relieving constraint,
Gualou Xiebai Ditan Decoction
(瓜蒌薤白涤痰汤) is prescribed. For nourishing the heart and relieving constraint,
Baihe Yangxin Decoction
(百合养心汤) can be applied. For tonifying the kidney and relieving constraint,
Wenshen Tongyu Decoction
(温肾通郁汤) or
Zishui Qinggan Beverage
(滋水清肝饮) with modifications should be used. For clearing fire and relieving constraint,
Puji Huagan Decoction
(蒲及化肝汤) or
Yiwei Decoction
(益胃汤) and
Lianmei Beverage
(连梅饮) with modifications is selected. For transforming phlegm and relieving constraint,
