Based on the recognition of the mani-festations of different types of anemia andby a general review of the ancient litera-tures of traditional Chinese medicine

wesummarized systematically the knowledge ofposthemorrhagic anemia

hypoferric anemia

nutritional anemia

aplastic anemia and he-molytic anemia described by the medicalauthors of each historical period in China.Thus we presented here a brief history ofanemia in traditional Chinese medicine.
