Patients suffered from chronic bronchi-tis of the type of vital energy insufficiency ofthe spleen and from other diseases of the sametype were divided into two groups

each 40cases.Another group with 40 normal personswere treated as control.By barium mealfluoroscopy examination

it was discoveredthat in the chronic bronchitis group

as com-pared with the normal group

gastroptosiswere marked

its peristalsis weakened

frequ-ency of peristaltic wave lessened

time neededfor emptying prolonged.The difference isstatistically significant

while there is noobvious difference between the two insuffi-cient groups statistically.The author concluded that according totraditional Chinese medical viewpoint

although there are various kinds of disease

the abnormal position of the stomach werecoincided with its abnormal function ofcontraction in patients of vital energyinsufficient type of the spleen.
