Preliminary Exploration on the Relationship Between Hypertensive Syndrome Types and Insulin Resistance[J]. Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine1999, (1): 45-46.DOI: 10.13288/j.11-2166/r.1999.01.031.
By using the methods of gluco - oxidase and radio -immunodouble antibody
the blood glucose level at fasting 1 h
2 h after oral sugar and blood insulin were examined and the insulin - sensitive - index was determined. It was found that types of flaring - up of liver fire
exuberant - yang deficient - yin in hypertension had higher blood insulin and blood glucose 1 h and 2 h after oral sugar was taken than that of the control group (P<0. 05
P<0. 01)
ISI markedly decreased (P < 0. 05 - 0. 01). When comparing that of the above 2 types with types of deficiency of both yin - yang
and exuberant damp -phlegm respectively
all the decrease and increase were of statistical significance. In the last two groups
except there were marked increase of blood sugar and insulin 1 h after taking sugar (P<0. 05)
all the other index revealed no obvious increase. Conclusion: in hypertensive cases
there was insulin resistance characteristized by flaring - up of liver fire and yin -deficiency yang - exuberance .
